Cones and plugs for sealing of tie holes

Due to the installation of wall thicknesses and the bracing of the formwork, tie hole openings remain in the concrete wall after concreting and striking. Sealing cones and plugs made of fibre-reinforced concrete can be used to seal these recesses. The MAX FRANK product range includes various sealing variants and combinations to achieve an optimal solution for the respective requirements.

Advantages:

  • Fast and clean sealing of tie holes.
  • Water impermeable sealing of concrete structures
  • Smooth finish - virtually pore-free concrete surface

Sealing variants for exposed concrete surfaces

Especially for structures with exposed concrete surfaces, optical requirements play a decisive role in addition to the physical and chemical requirements. MAX FRANK sealing cones also serve as a design focal point and impress with their precise shape and quality. Particularly when used in combination with flat gaskets, they ensure homogeneous, durable and aesthetically pleasing concrete surfaces. According to the guidelines of the DBV bulletin "Exposed Concrete", the fibre-reinforced concrete sealing cones achieve the exposed concrete classes SB3 or SB4 for special requirements, depending on the design.

For application with exposed concrete MAX FRANK offers a choice between the following cone properties:

Colours

With four different shades of grey as basic colors, the cones can be matched to the exposed concrete wall. Based on these four colours, a variety of other shades of grey - as well as shades of red, yellow or brown, are available based on a project-specific colour determination.

Shapes

Different cone shapes serve as a further design element for fair-faced concrete surfaces: a specific plastic cone is selected during concreting, to determine which concrete sealing cones will be subsequently used. In this way, the tie holes become an architectural design feature through flush or recessed insertion of the fibre-reinforced concrete cones or their formation as shadow joints.
