The Main Point Karlin administrative building was nominated "Office building with high level of technology and sustainable architecture".
The new landmark near the centre of Prague is visible from afar. Main Point Karlin was built by PSJ Invest and won the MIPIM Award in the Best Office and Business Development category in 2011, making it one of the best buildings in the office building category. The extraordinary office building was designed by the architecture firm DaM with a focus on sustainable design, especially in building cooling: Eye-catching façade elements protect against direct sunlight in combination with a water-flow cooling system. The 22,000 m² rentable space is a place where well-being and functionality are very important. The saddle-shaped design elements contribute to the property's unique appearance.
The Tubbox® column former was used as a load bearing element in the ceiling area from the first basement and in the area of the canopy to the pedestrian bridge. Several columns could be prepared and set at the desired angle for one concreting operation. MAX FRANK "Rondo" spacers were installed to facilitate the fitting of the column formers. The working joints were sealed with the dimensionally stable Cresco® BT expanding waterstop.
