The Donau City Tower in Vienna is currently the tallest building in Austria. The new landmark with its characteristic "crystal façade" is highly impressive.
Completed in 2013, DC Tower 1 is not only Austria's tallest building at 220 meters but is also a fabulous landmark for the city. The building with its characteristic "crystal façade" was designed by the architect Dominique Perrault and combines architectural aesthetics with state of the art "green" construction methods. The 60-storey, 250,000-ton colossus towers decisively shapes the skyline of Vienna. The project is an extreme challenge for both people and materials. It uses the maximum possible shifting density of reinforcing steel with diameters of up to 40 mm. So far, approx. 18,000 t of reinforcing steel have been delivered and installed.
Engineers and skilled workers from the Max Bögl construction company have worked on this superlative building project since June 2010.
